Book Review: Illustration Play 2

This is a book review of Illustration Play 2: Craving for the New Extraordinary. I am currently doing AS level art and this book is very helpful for finding inspiration from other artists. This book showcases the work of 24 different artists and includes some information about their work and the artists themselves. Its also includes interviews with each of the artists and I love the fact that most of the interviews are written in the artists own handwriting. I think that the interviews are also a useful way to find out more about the artists and their views of their own work. The artists also say which other artists they are interested in, this is a great way to find out about other artists work. The book shows the work of artists who specialise in textiles, paper cuts, collage and other mediums. This is particularly appealing to me as I am especially interested in textile art but from looking at some of the beautiful paper cuts in this book I am inspired to have a go at this as well. I must just say that the book itself is beautiful with a textured cover and clear pictures of the artists work. I would give this book 5/5 because of the brilliant, unusual and often quirky range of work it covers.
