Painted Heart Hook

This heart hook was originally a dark blue colour but when my room was redecorated it no longer matched. So I painted it with a tester pot of mat emulsion paint to cover the blue. I then used acrylic paints to add a floral pattern to the hook, this was done by firstly painting small circles in yellow on to the hook. I then highlighted part of the circles with a lighter yellow around the edge. To paint the petals I mixed a light purple and painted short straight lines around the circle. Once this had dried I mixed a darker purple and painted lines alongside the existing petal shapes. I then added stem and leaf shapes in green to finish off the pattern.
