Seed stitch scarf progress

A considerable amount of my seed stich scarf (pattern on Purl Bee) has been knitted since I last photographed it. I can't remember what colour I was on the last time I posted it here, maybe the purple or the dark grey? I've come to a bit of a standstill with it at the moment because I have run out of the blue that I am currently knitting with and I need to go back to the wool shop in Bath to get some more.
But as I'm going on holiday tomorrow I needed a knitting project to take with me to keep me busy. So I am starting a new scarf, I know, I have so many scarves already but they are just the best thing to knit. This scarf has pointed ends, which will come in handy for practicing my increasing and decreasing skills. I haven't done this in ages because I had a lot of time away from knitting. I recently got a beautiful clothes knitting patterns book so I feel like I need some practice before I start anything in that. Anyway, all will be revealed after my holiday when I also have a handmade skirt and top to show you.

Framed inspiration board

I like to have beautiful things on display instead of hidden away; which is probably why my style is, lets just say, definitely not minimalism. This is why I decided to make a display board for inspiring things such as postcards.
I had a frame which I had decorated with floral wrapping papers for an A level project which I decided to reuse and make into a board with ribbon that things can be held in. I used a piece of mount board which I covered with ivory cotton and then I used satin and grosgrain ribbon to create a crossed pattern. At the points where the ribbons cross I added flower shaped brad pins. I then mounted this in the frame and fixed it to the wall. This morning I put a few things I have been collecting into the frame, I still have a bit of space left to fill too.

Machine embroidery

A few weeks ago I bought an embroidery machine, so since it arrived I have been trying out a few things with it. The top four samples are some of the designs saved onto the machine which I started off with. There is also digitizing software which allows you to convert drawings which you have scanned into the computer into stitches. This can be altered to create certain effects and use different stitches. Then a memory stick is plugged into the machine and the design  is stitched. The last two samples in the photos are stitched from my own drawings. One of the best things about the machine is that it does pretty much everything for you and you can be sewing next to it on your standard machine, so you get double the sewing done in the same amount of time.
I meant to post this ages ago but forgot about it and its been sat in my drafts folder for ages. Since I wrote this I've used the machine a little bit more particularly for embroidering my own designs and I'm just starting to get the hang of using the software.

Anthropologie Bath

In a previous post I wrote about two of my paintings being on display on the hoarding of Anthropologie Bath. The shop is now open and both of my paintings have been chosen to be displayed in the shop alongside several other student's work. The paintings are up on the first floor in a room that leads onto the changing rooms, I love the blue and white styling around the largest of my paintings. The best thing is that they have written a small description about the paintings and they have put our names on this too. It is such a beautiful shop and I am so pleased that my work is part of it.

Vintage fair

Some more vintage shopping at another vintage fair if I didn't have enough already!

These are pages from old botanical and wildlife books, we were told the images were all hand painted.

Even though I'm running out of space, I couldn't resist buying this trio of cup, saucer and plate. A yellow ceramic rose, which I also bought at the fair, sits in the saucer.

A triangular shaped piece of intricate lace.

Some beautiful fabric with a small scale flowers print, two lace trims and an assortment of buttons.
